School begins

The kids started school. Yippee! They had new kid orientation on Tuesday and were able to tour the school, learn some of the rules, and meet with the teachers. Katria did not arrived back in HCMC until Tuesday afternoon so she missed this. They all looked terrified entering the school but immediately dispersed to their classrooms. Thai and I suddenly realized that Jason would be in middle school next year. In the US, he would have had one more year of elementary. The first few days of school have gone really good. Maya and Mia did come home on the 1st day and say that they could not wear thongs to school. I immediately thought of the wrong thong when they giggled and said that flipflops are called thongs here. Maya has met several of her old friends and made new friends. Mia had her first sleepover on Friday. Jason went to his friend's house on Friday evening and played basketball with friends. And Katria is so excited about school as well.

Hey, neat blog. I used to live in Hanoi as a kid in 93-95, and reminds me of the "good old days". Halong Bay is one of my favorite places in Vietnam. :)
