The kids are doing great in school. They all have friends and seem to like their teachers. Maya, Mia and Jason are swamped with homework every day. Maya spends 1-2 hours every day after school with her Spanish teacher. She is in Spanish 2 and because she went one year without speaking the language, she is trying to keep up with the class. So I guess she figures that if she is speaking the language all the time, she will learn it. She is walking around speaking to me in Spanish. And even her Vietnamese Grandmother is saying "hola!" I wouldn't be surprised if Justin's first word is in spanish. Maya reminds me every day that if she was in America, she would have had two free periods and no homework. It makes me love school here even more. Less time for her to get into trouble!

Hola! Hate to burst your bubble, but I had no free periods and too much h/w, but I still found time....hahahahaha. But really, I think it's cool they offer Spanish. UNIS still doesn't.
I am assuming she has the option of taking Vietnamese? What else do they offer?
Vietnamese and Mandarin. The problem is that they want her to have 3 years of the same language. Right, Ms. Admissions?
Absolutely right! She does need 3 years of a foreign language for most programs.
